ARTIST STATEMENT

Midwest mixed media artist, designer and educator, working beyond the walls, exploring and designing for what connects us.

I stand at the bottom and yearn for the top. I climb to the top and feel my own smallness. The wilds outside and the great quieting of the soul. Even the rocks cry out their joy and longing.

Art almost always points to larger spiritual truths. So, while I like to think big, I look for beauty in the small spaces too. Because it’s good to paint in the dusty and neglected corners, and it’s good to find fellowship with others through that process. From the pages of a sketchbook to the side of a building, visual stories connect us, weave through our lives and help us become a better community for each other.
